Fragments and a journey made

Fragments an interactive installation by artists Jairo Zaldua and Nicola Green opened at the Free Space Gallery on the 21st July with an evening of workshops run by the artists as well as a performance by dancer Katsura Isobe.

In the piece inspired by Nikolai Gogol and his short story Diary of a Madman the artists ask us to explore our feelings about our state of mind through a series of tasks. Selecting and responding to words, grouping them in collages and in diaries and aiding in the physical and symbolic growth of the project.

Fragments will be with us for a few months, the artists hope to see it change and morph over the course of its stay, being added to by visitors and over the course of more workshops.

For those of you who missed the open evening have a quick peek at the below and never fear there will be more open evenings in September when you can meet the artists and take part in Fragments just keep your eyes peeled and glued to our Facebook page.
