Mother in the Mother – September 16th – October 7th – Mon – Fri 9am – 6.30pm – When a woman becomes a mother it is often a time when she reflects back upon the way she was mothered and considers the influence of her maternal inheritance. Mother in the Mother is an exhibition exploring the theme of maternal lineage through the stories of 200 mothers represented in text, craft, sculpture, portrait photography and moving image. Open evening 16th September 6.30pm – 9pm

Friday 26th August – 2pm – 5pm – Print – Join us for this 6 week printing course run in collaboration with Mental Spaghetti. Week four we will be learning the skill of Japanese Woodcut. Please get in touch to book your free place.

Friday 2nd September – 2pm – 5pm – Print – Join us for this 6 week printing course run in collaboration with Mental Spaghetti. Week five covers Intaglio prints. Please get in touch to book your free place.

Friday 9th September – 2pm – 5pm – Print – Our final session of this 6 week course will cover linocut printing. So please do get in touch to book your free place.

Friday 9th September – 5pm – 8pm – Drawing for People with Aphasia – Our monthly workshop led by speech & language therapist and artist Cat Andrews teaches participants different drawing skills to help with their speech and communication as well as improving levels of communication. Friday 16th September – 2pm – 5pm – Motherhood: (Un)speakable, (Un)spoken – Join our workshop series exploring what it is to be a mother, whilst providing a safe space to engage with stories & experiences that may otherwise stay hidden or unshared. You will be guided through arts based activities designed to unlock these stories. We will be providing free creche facilities. Please get in touch to book your free place

Friday 23rd September – 6.30pm – 8pm – Six Sense Garden Launch – We will be having a opening launch party for our gardening and art project. Over the summer we have been working on building a productive garden as well as working on exploring how plants adapt to stress. Bess Frimodig has been leading the group through printing activities taking direct inspiration from nature. The group has also met with experts in the field and produced a wellbeing instruction fanzine and a film about the project both of which will be launched on 23rd September.
